Not In My House (A Basketball Podcast)
We have a strong love for basketball and the doors that it can open outside of the game itself. We love to give current and former players, coaches, artists, and historians their recognition and the platform they deserve to tell their story and teach our listeners about the game and applying lessons we learn from hoops to everyday life. We don't care for hot takes, we don't care for debates but we do care about giving back to the game and giving people the recognition they deserve for their hard work, dedication, their experiences and their knowledge to give our listeners and ourselves a better understanding of the game, the business, and life beyond hoops. We also like to have have fun! Any Questions? Suggestions? You can email us at Notinmyhousepodcast@gmail.com Much Love to you all! Twitter - @NOTINMYHOUSEpc Instagram- @not_in_my_house_podcast

Ever been to New Bedford, MA? Michael Conceicao is in the house today and he truly made us feel the pride, passion, and rich culture that New Bedford has for its hoops. We left this conversation feeling like we actually spent time in the area and lived through some of these experiences. The basketball stories in this episode are unique and any basketball fanatic will appreciate this one.
Michael Conceicao was born and raised in New Bedford MA. He was a three-year starter and two-time team captain at Bishop Stang High School before going on to play at Framingham State where he was third in the nation in assists for DIII during the 1981-82 season and was the Defensive Player of the Year. He officiated basketball for 20+ years and ran the Monte Park Shootout for over 30 years which leads to some incredible stories! Conceicao wrote several great articles including “A Day with Dr. J” that we get to hear about as well.
Michael is truly a basketball historian and we can’t thank him enough for his time. It was a pleasure learning more about him and the love for hoops that New Bedford has. He also shared some great stories about Julius Erving, Nate Archibald, Joe Bryant, David Leitao, Larry Bird, Reggie Lewis, Chris Herren and MUCH more. We learned so much about the game from an officiating standpoint due to his experience as an official and these are simply hoop stories that you won’t hear anywhere else. We promise this won’t be last time that we hear from Michael Conceicao. He is welcome back ANY time!
Thank You Michael Conceicao!
