We love to give current and former players, coaches, artists, and historians their recognition and the platform they deserve to tell their story and teach our listeners about the game and applying lessons we learn from hoops to everyday life. We don't care for hot takes, we don't care for debates but we do care about giving back to the game and giving people the recognition they deserve for their hard work, dedication, their experiences and their knowledge to give our listeners and ourselves a better understanding of the game, the business, and life beyond hoops. Travis Diener: Former Marquette, NBA Player & TBT Champion
With the TBT basketball tournament just around the corner… there is absolutely no better guest to have on the Podcast today than the guy with perhaps the most memorable TBT moment of all time which sent his team to the 2019 title game. Travis Diener is getting ready to lace up the shoes again to compete in this years TBT basketball tournament and was still kind enough to take time to hang out and talk hoops with us. You will learn quickly that he is one of the more pleasant, humble and down to earth guys that you will ever meet.
Diener is another fun success story who helped lead Marquette to the Final Four with teammate Dwayne Wade. After a successful college career, he was a 2nd round draft pick by the Orlando Magic. He spent some time with the Indiana Pacers and the Portland Trail Blazers before having a very successful career overseas.
We had a great time in this episode learning more about Diener, his background and his career. We truly can’t wait to see him and his Golden Eagles Alumni team in the TBT this year. Be sure to tune in to the games starting on July 4th on ESPN!
