Not In My House (A Basketball Podcast)
We have a strong love for basketball and the doors that it can open outside of the game itself. We love to give current and former players, coaches, artists, and historians their recognition and the platform they deserve to tell their story and teach our listeners about the game and applying lessons we learn from hoops to everyday life. We don't care for hot takes, we don't care for debates but we do care about giving back to the game and giving people the recognition they deserve for their hard work, dedication, their experiences and their knowledge to give our listeners and ourselves a better understanding of the game, the business, and life beyond hoops. We also like to have have fun! Any Questions? Suggestions? You can email us at Notinmyhousepodcast@gmail.com Much Love to you all! Twitter - @NOTINMYHOUSEpc Instagram- @not_in_my_house_podcast
Not In My House (A Basketball Podcast)
Rickey Paulding: Pauldingburg (Mizzou & Oldenburg Legend)
How fitting to have #23 as the guest for our 23rd episode for Season 3! Mizzou and Pauldingburg is going to love this one… Mr. Oldenburg himself! We got Rickey Paulding on the podcast today to share his hoops story with us.
Rickey Paulding left his mark on Missouri after an outstanding college career. He went on to be drafted 54th overall by his hometown Detroit Pistons before going to play overseas, including an absolutely legendary career in Germany. He is incredibly beloved in Oldenburg where locals refer to the city name as “Pauldingburg” and you can find murals and portraits of him throughout. His number 23 hangs in Oldenburg having just recently retired after 15 amazing years there. Rickey shares some great stories about growing up in Detroit, the recruiting process, Mizzou, Coach Quin Snyder, Arthur Johnson, Dwayne Wade, Tony Allen, the Draft process, his wild experiences overseas, his love for Germany, and MUCH more!
This was an absolute honor to learn from one of Zach’s favorite college players of ALL TIME. There are so many great stories and tips shared in this episode and we are forever grateful for the experience. Rickey Paulding is hands down one of the most down to earth and fun guests that we have ever had. We now understand more than ever why he is so loved in Oldenburg and even has the city nicknamed after him!
Thank you Rickey Paulding!
